Anyone ages 14 and up can create their free account on OURONN!

Safety Mode is a special feature that is automatically enabled when users under the age of 18 sign up. All profiles created by the user will automatically have Safety Mode enabled.

When a profile has Safety Mode enabled:

• By default, only members linked with them can message them. This option can be changed to allow no one instead.
• By default, their default post visibility is set to ‘Members’ (meaning only logged in OURONN users can view their posts). This option can be changed to ‘Private’ (meaning only members they’re linked with can see their posts). Their ‘Visibility’ setting on individual posts can still be changed separately and can manually be made ‘Public’ on a post-by-post basis.

Safety Mode allows younger users to benefit from using the platform while providing more visibility into who they’re communicating with.

If a profile has Safety Mode enabled, their Privacy Settings page will have a message saying “Your profile is in Safety Mode due to your age”.
